Here is the History of megaman At first look, the games are the same platform formula that Mario and Sonic employ. Megaman can move left and right, or up and down if there's a ladder handy (like Mario on a vine) and he can jump. He can fire at his enemies like Fire Mario, though he doesn't lose this ability if he touches one. And when he faces a boss at the end of a stage, if he defeats the boss, he gains the weapon used against him. Those weapons can be used against the other bosses like a giant game of Rock, Paper, Scissors, as well as for areas of the various stages that need a specific weapon or item to help move forward, just as Link needs various weapons to go on. What makes these games special, though, is Dr. Wily. Although he's a bad guy, he is the eternal optimist. He will always try someway to destroy Megaman and take over the world. As we went from game to game, we came across other characters (most of them good), either major or minor, that added to the games in one way or another, like Dr. Cossack. He was only doing Wily's dirty work because his daughter had been kidnapped by Wily. We now move on to Megaman's younger brother, X. Again, we start off with the platform formula, but now we toss in a little of Sonic's speed with the dash move, as well as cling to walls. We still have to deal with bosses and get their weapons, but now we also have to look for armor parts to enhance X, as well as heart tanks to extend the life meter. Sigma, our replacement for Dr. Wily, is not the eternal optimist. He's just a sad robot with a major tendency to over-compensate in his bid to just get rid of X and Zero. MMX7 and Command Missions are the series only forays into the realm of 3-D. The additional characters, instead of adding to the game, sort of detracted instead, especially Alia. Megaman Trigger (Megaman Legends 1 & 2) we now travel hundreds of years into the future. Water covers most of the land on the world. It is in this world that we meet Megaman Trigger (though at the time, he's only known as Megaman Volnut), his pet monkey Data, Barrel Caskett and his granddaughter Roll. These were the only Action/RPGs (outside of MMX Command Missions) that involved Megaman, and although they were good (some parts downright outrageous), they never really took off, though both games are really fun to play. Treasure hunting, fighting pirates, building and upgrading weapons, and immense boss battles. Who could ask for more? (Answer: Everyone. Just about every MML fan is hoping that Capcom is going to make a third.) Next comes Megaman EXE. Megaman’s data (thought to be lost forever) has been recovered by a man named Yuuichiro Hikari. Combining this data with the DNA with his son, Hub, Megaman is reborn and Megaman.EXE. Megaman EXE is an alternate timeline that connects with the X series. X is destroyed and his robotic data has become lost. The world turns to a net based society and the data from X is found by a scientist named Yuuichiro Hikari. By analyzing this data, Yuuichiro finds out about Megaman X. He wants to recreate him as a net based program, but more perfect than X. He fuses his Son’s(Hub) DNA with the Data from Megaman X to create Megaman.EXE which is given to his son Lan Hikari. Now we move on to Megaman Zero. Megaman Zero also ties into Megaman X and Megaman EXE. In Megaman X8 Zero seals himself up so as to keep the Zero Virus in him from escaping. Years pass and a girl named Ciel comes across Zero. When she awakes him his memories from the X series are lost. he fights his way through Megaman Zero 1-3 and in Megaman Zero 4 he sacrifices himself to save the world. His data remains and is found by a scientist named Dr. Wily. He takes Zero’s data (Zero’s data is still corrupted by the Zero Virus) and uses it to create Zero.exe, a netnavi that Dr. Wily tries to use to destroy Megaman. Dr. Wily finds out about the Zero Virus and tries to use it to destroy the Net Society. Megaman ZX- Megaman ZX takes place hundreds of years after the Zero series. Zero’s data is given to two children who are able to use Zero’s data to combine to form the new Megaman Zero. Megaman StarForce takes place hundreds of years after the EXE series. The net society has now moved onto the use of radio waves. A boy named Subaru (lmain character-similar to Lan from EXE) accidentally fuses with an FM creature named Warlock to become Megaman. Megaman is reborn for the last time as an FM creature/Human cross. |

good job on your history, but x and megaman are one in the same. x is the seconed version of megaman, hence the name megaman x. the x series are the best of the best. hard, straght forward, and hella fun! the exe series is different altogether, the hikari report covers that megaman.EXE was created from SCRATCH, yes he was fused with hubs DNA, but he is himself, not a ripoff or "rencarntion" the ZERO series, zero was found sealed in hibernation by dr.ciel, who ater discovers that dr.wily had put him in that state before he was banished with omega. the ZX series take place millions of years after the reploid wars but dr.ciel fixed the data of the heros, into biometal which aile/vent can use all the games are thier own series, and "takes place/ combines/ ETC |

All of the above series are Spinoffs, and other than the X/Zero/ZX series', none of them are actually related to the timeline. Now, if they WERE, I figure that EXE came first. Why? Well, I figure that some time after BN6, the entire 'Net broke down for one reason or another, driving the world into chaos, and Wily's robotic utopia idea was implemented in it's place. In other words... *BOOM!* Everyone: PANIC! Yuuichiro: ...Fine, we'll do it YOUR way this time! Wily Decendant (Not Regal): WHOO!!!™ From there, the invention of said robots lead to the original MegaMan series, where a decendant of the decendant of Wily, or DR. Wily, has begun using said robots to try and take over the world. However, he is REPEATEDLY foiled by a robot seemingly based off of a Navi from older times... Then 17 or so games later, the invention of Reploids, and the subsequent Maverick outbreak, yadda yadda yadda, MegaMan X. Afterwards, 4 games of Zero NOT being dead. Or you could apply the Split Timeline Theory, and say that MegaMan Legends also branches off from here. And WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY after theat, we get stuck with ZX. |

While there is significant proof, it goes both ways. Do not claim theory as fact. I'd be happy to help Death. EXE & Starforce are NOT in the same timeline as the original series and MMX. |

That wouldn't make sense that Megaman and Megaman X stories weren't connected though AZ. I mean, even on the old TV show, Megaman met X! Those stories have to be connected. |

Might have been. It was some old american cartoon, full of crappy puns and american humor... which isn't good. Think the Super Mario Supershow, just with Megaman and not Mario. |

Ryuusei/Star Force actually takes place 200 years after EXE. And it's best not to try to put all the MegaMan series into one timeline. It's even harder than trying to place the Legend of Zelda games into a single timeline. |

THOSE WERE MADE BY AMERICA! You can't expect America to respect the boundaries of the fourth wall, especially in those days. Oh, and I forgot about Ryuusei. My bad. I've just heard so little about it. |

>______________> *KA-SMACK!* maybe you should do more research on it, and in order for the show to work, they would need permision from the creaters right? hence that they are connect, forth wall or not. |

Wrong again. They got a license to make their own story. NOT to change it. The creator of Megaman HIMSELF anounced that the series are NOT linked, but are intended to take reference from one another. You're talking to one of the biggest MMX know-it-alls around. |

Then prepare to be challenged! I have absoulte knowledge of almost every MM fact EVAR! ANYWAYS, onto the Classic -> X series debate Simply put? Classis DOES have several links to the X series, so it IS likely that X is a continuation. Points for this: -in MMX2, Sigmaalludes to Zero's creator being Dr. Wily's creation, and, if you play the second MM Classic Arcade game as Bass only, you CAN see Zero's unfinished body. -In Zero's story of MMX4, Wily' outline is seen in several flashbacks, AND there is the good ol "Sigma V Zero Flashback" with Zero screaming in pain as a big W is seen on his helmet crystal thing. -ALL of Megaman X5 -In MMX6, one of the people Gate is involved with, Isooc or whatever his name is, turns out to be just a puppet for an unknown force. Zero comments on having felt something familliar. several fans believe this to be Wily, as he was alluded to have being alive through MMX5 Now, at the same time.... Things AGAINST Classic -> X Series - WHERE TEH %&$* IS MEGAMAN!? WHY HAS NOBODY EVER HEARD OF HIM!? |
